Making a unique shape requires a special mold. The mold material is 45 steel or Cr12. When designing the mold, we think about the release angle. If the angle is too straight, the product gets stuck. If the angle is too slanted, the shape does not look good. We have our own mold workshop. Our mold engineers use 3D software to simulate the bulging process. They do a CAE analysis first to see where wrinkles or cracks might happen. Then they start machining the mold. After the mold is ready, we do test runs. It usually takes two or three adjustments to get stable production. This gives you a steel mug with straw that looks unique and works well.
